What do your relapses mean?

If you have relapsed to porn in the past, it is because of either one of two things: 1. You did not know how to deal with the addicted part of the mind in the moment that you wanted to engage in your compulsive behaviour
or 2. You chose to avoid using a tool to deal with the addicted part of the mind in the moment that you wanted to engage in your compulsive behaviour
Unfortunately, most people are still doing what I did for about 10 years. They are misunderstanding what their problem really is and thinking that they relapse because of things like:
A lack of willpower
Poor discipline
Not enough desire to stop
Low motivation
The truth is solving porn addiction isn't about strength and power. It is about choices and rational. You can not solve a problem with the same mind that created the problem. If you are still struggling to stay consistent in stopping porn - you are not the problem. You current strategy to dealing with the addicted part of the mind is the problem. At Beyond Compulsion Academy, we train our clients to deal with the addicted part of the mind directly so they no longer have to run away from their own mind. Real freedom is not in willpower, streaks, and temporary motivation. Lasting, sustainable freedom comes from making rational decisions in the exact moment of compulsive desire. The desire is not the problem. How we respond is what matters. When you go through a strong urge successfully, you actually make change in your neural pathways.
