If you are struggling, it is your system, not you!

Before running the Beyond Compulsion Academy, I had spent a lot of time reading a range of books on psychology.
Human biases fascinate me.
I came to the understanding that the popular perspective, in any given society, is not always the best. And sometimes the consequences can be disastrous.
Think about the 2008 housing crash or the lack of preparation for Covid-19.
Right now, we are living in an addiction epidemic. Behaviours which are destroying people's mental health are being normalised and the information on how to help people is often misplaced and ineffective. Therapists are often looking at the problem wrong. They are trying to understand and empathise with the addicted part of the mind (APOTM) and are unintentionally validating people's helplessness. Mental health professionals are sticking labels on every man, woman, and their dog and this is only making things worse. It is no wonder so many people are struggling nowadays. At the Beyond Compulsion Academy, we do things totally differently to anyone else. We believe people's problems are experienced in the RIGHT NOW and never conform to having a fixed mindset or believing people are just stuck for good. Instead, we understand that with the right help and support, people are able to make choices they are proud of, moment by moment. And over time, people can change. They do change. We have seen it countless times. We know that there is nothing intrinsically wrong with people for struggling to stop watching porn. And that each and every person is able to change their addicted neural pathways for good when they know how to.
Living freely, without ever worrying about this problem again is possible for everybody. It all starts with getting connected to the neural pathway of compulsive desire, instead of running away from it. You are not stuck forever. Help is here. Permanent mental freedom is possible. If you'd like to learn about how common strategies to "break a bad habit" can unintentionally make things worse for people, give our latest podcast a listen.
