From rational to suddenly irrational

There are times where you think rationally and there are times where the addicted part of the mind (APOTM) tries to take over with irrational thinking. In the past, I used to learn loads from self-improvement books and thought in rational ways most of the time. And then, seemingly out of nowhere, I'd experience strong urges and relapse to porn. It was confusing because it could happen just after thinking rationally and feeling in control. This is why inside of the Beyond Compulsion Academy (BCA) we focus very specifically on the inevitable moment of compulsive desire.
This week, one of our clients shared on the weekly check-in how he felt lost for years before joining BCA. He now has a tool (the 5-fact script) to put his rational mind back in control when experiencing compulsive desires. This means he gets to be in control of himself at all times, without worrying about relapsing anymore.

If you feel like a lot of the time you are able to think and act rationally, but then suddenly you engage in compulsivity and wonder what happened - you are not alone.
Most people when struggling with a porn addiction feel just like this. There is nothing wrong with you, but if you keep relapsing, then there is something wrong with your current approach to dealing with compulsive desires. If you want to solve that problem, we are here to help.
