Can You Ever Be Truly Free From Porn Addiction?

A few weeks ago I was at my local running club's 5th birthday party. I had a gigantic number 5 balloon in my hand, a colourful garland around my neck, and my girlfriend by my side. For a while I was talking to a friend who works at Ofcom. Ofcom are the people who recently put the 18+ UK porn ban in place.
We were discussing the ban and I was sharing my thoughts about how it could lead to feelings of deprivation and make things worse for some people.

This morning, a friend in my running club shared this photo with me. It was cool to see this because for someone who has been in the depths of a porn addiction, it shows just how much life has now changed. If you learn to deal with urges correctly, you will feel in control of yourself. And because you no longer fear ever relapsing again, you can have open chats about porn and porn addiction with pretty much anyone, without feeling any shame at all. There is no part of you thinking "shit what if I relapse?" or "oh my god can this person tell that I recently watched porn?". Those days are behind you. You no longer feel like two separate people and can just crack on with life.
Some people think addiction is a life sentence.
We are here to tell those people they are wrong. Due to neuroplasticity, with the right education and tool, you can change your own brain. Contrary to popular belief, permanent mental freedom is possible.
