Awareness of the APOTM

Anyone who has taken the Beyond Compulsion™ method knows there is a huge difference between the addicted part of the mind (APOTM) and the rational self.
When we understand that our thoughts can be completely irrational and we have the ability to observe them as so, it becomes much less scary to talk about what is going on for us. In fact, we get to take pride in the fact we can share what the APOTM is saying and no longer feel like a slave or a puppet to it's every demand. The APOTM will try and convince you that you "NEED" to watch porn.
It will do everything in it's power to get you to watch porn. This can involve some quite intricate, clever methods.
Remember the APOTM is coming from your own brain.
If you are a smart guy, you can bet your life the APOTM will be just as smart.
For example, it will start trying to convolute your choices or try to get you to ask yourself an infinite amount of unanswerable questions.
It is sneaky and it is shrewd. Without training on how to deal with the APOTM, it can rule your life without you even knowing how it is doing so. You know those thoughts of "how did I end up here, again?" after relapsing... well the answer is that the APOTM pulled some bullshit on you and convinced you to relapse somehow. But, there is no value in hating the APOTM, it is just doing it's job. It is how we respond that matters. Through work and repetition, we can change our relationship with the APOTM and take back complete control. This is where the script we help our clients build comes in; a wealth of understanding of addiction, prepared and packaged into a singular piece of paper which enables the rational mind to take back control in the moments that truly matter. Real mental freedom is experienced when we know exactly how to deal with the APOTM at all times, and can consistently make choices we are proud of.
This is possible for everyone. Permanent mental freedom is possible.
