Earlier this week I turned 27. I decided to write in my journal 10 things that I have learned. I didn't spend too much time doing this, maybe 5 minutes or so. At first, these were just notes for myself. But last night, I had my journal and pen ready with me for another group call with members of the Beyond Compulsion Academy and at the start of the call, Mari asked me how my birthday was... After sharing how I had a great time with family and my girlfriend, I decided to share the 10 lessons from my journal with everyone on the group call. For Beyond Compulsion Academy members, you can watch the full recording back in Skool. And for you non-members, here are the 10 lessons:
It is up to you. Everything is up to you
Suffering is mostly caused by irrational thinking
Discomfort can either be your greatest ally or your worse enemy
Freedom is experienced by thinking and acting freely, not through your circumstance
The most simple answer is sometimes the best answer
Friendships are easier to lose than maintain. They require effort and this results in great rewards
Your family are important. Focus on yourself so you can be there for them
Being connected to people often requires the absence of other things
Consistency wins in the long run
It is not your responsibility to make other people happy. If you are happy yourself then maybe you can lead the way
These were just off the top of my head. Some relate to the Beyond Compulsion method and some don't. Either way, I hope you have enjoyed reading this and have a great rest of your day!
