Watching porn, just once, is a big decision

If you want to overcome a porn addiction for good, experiencing temporary discomfort is required. Unfortunately, this is rarely spoken about. But, it is true.

Making changes in neural pathways is uncomfortable. The addicted part of the mind (APOTM) will try everything it possibly can to get you to relapse.

It will bombard you with junkie thoughts and unanswerable questions and try to make you feel helpless and deprived.

It is challenging.

But, going through all of this is so worth it. Over time, your self-respect grows, your self-trust develops, and you get to live a life in alignment with your values.

Choosing to relapse isn't a little bad habit. It is a crucial choice.

Choosing to relapse puts you back in the addiction indefinitely. A revolving door of misery. Acting on the desire strengthens addicted neural pathways and creates more desire.

Insatiable desire.

It is never "just one peek".

I now know that relapsing less frequently just means you are still in an addiction, but have got better at managing and controlling it. If you choose to relapse, your neural pathways will stay addicted.

You will keep on having junkie thoughts, unanswerable questions, and experiencing the discomfort of the desires.

Minimising and reducing frequency leads you down a dead end.

It is choosing to engage which creates the desire to engage again in the future... and then again, and again, and again. A never-ending cycle of more and more.

Streaks are not the answer. Staying on the straight line for good, and feeling good about your choices, moment by moment, is the goal.

Taking complete control and being proactive in dealing with the APOTM leads to real peace of mind.

This approach requires further training. And it is only when you understand the reality of addiction that all of this makes sense. If you are fed up with having ups and downs, doing streaks and always returning to porn, you are in the right place. All of this may sound scary and extreme.

But, that's because you've never been taught how to get connected to the neural pathways of compulsive desire correctly.

And you've never been taught how to get out of feelings of deprivation. These feelings keep people trapped for decades. If you'd like to get trained on how to do this, we have a short 29 minute video for you to get started with Fact 1 and Fact 2. It's available on our website here - https://www.beyondcompulsionacademy.com/2fact-rewiring
