The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows

It has faded now, but as I began writing this morning - I had an amazing view of a rainbow. This reminded me of the famous Rocky quote "The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows".

The truth is life can be messy and challenging at times.

We often have obstacles to face and difficult people to deal with.

But, one thing I can absolutely guarantee is that life is harder when struggling with a porn addiction. I know this from years and years of personal experience.

Yesterday, one of our clients was sharing his experience of being on the straight line for over a month now. He wrote about his self-acceptance returning in a slow natural way and how he had felt more capable socially. This was really great to hear. However, he also mentioned "I am still having to go to the script many times every day".

Sharing this will hopefully have been useful to this client and also to others who have also felt this way. This was a really valuable share to our Skool community. I also used to feel bogged down by "having to use the script often". It felt a bit like a chore at first. I'd often experience urges and feel like "oh not another urge. I have to use the script". But, my mentality shifted over time as I discovered, through experience and conversations with Mari, that I didn't "have to" use my script. It was a choice.

And so I started to think "I get to use my script".

I started to see it more like a tool akin to meditation or journaling or working out.

But, this tool actually enabled me to make rational choices in response to compulsive desires.

Therefore, this tool enabled me to solve the greatest problem in my life, and act rationally in the most important moments - when I had an urge.

One of our other clients beat me to sharing all of this with this absolutely spot on comment below.

Quote from client in Skool It’s really an opportunity every time to read our script. We are so lucky we have such an amazing tool to help us make choices we are proud of. I know it’s not convenient most of the time but if we reframe our rational mind to saying this is an opportunity, I “get to” read my script. Instead of not having a script and dealing with urges all day. Life before the script sucked. Urges were scary for me but now the more I know about the APOTM I feel confident when they come up.

Fortunately, through sharing this message the client who felt like he "had to" read his script can position himself in a more proactive, attacking way.

This will enable him to feel even more empowered and on the front foot in dealing with the addicted part of the mind (APOTM). If he chooses to use his script more from this mental stance, he will feel even more in control and enjoy the straight line life even further.

So, if you take one thing away from this post, remember you don't have to stop watching porn. You get to stop watching porn. No one is forcing you to do this. But, life without porn is supremely better than life with porn.

If you want to build a proactive, attacking method where you use a 5-Fact script to change your neural pathways, we are here to provide the necessary education and the right tool to enable you to do exactly this.
