Saved From Relapse

When I was in the porn addiction I did everything I could to get away from the desire. I believed that having the desire to watch porn was a bad thing. And so when I eventually did experience junkie thoughts and unanswerable questions (which happens when you have desire) I would try and battle what was going on in my mind. But, I did not know how to win that "battle" and it became exhausting. The addicted part of the mind (APOTM), the part which uses junkie thoughts and unanswerable questions to get what it wants would always win eventually. One of our clients shared on the weekly check-in this week how his newfound understanding of the APOTM and his script has saved him from relapsing.

This is exactly what we teach guys to do - deal with compulsive desires, including junkie thoughts and unanswerable questions so they can make rational choices. Once you do this repeatedly, you will realise that the desire was never the problem. The problem people struggling with porn have is an inability to deal with the inevitable moments of compulsive desire. Once solved, people can experience more presence in the world, be more sociable, and be in a better mood - knowing how to deal with any urges that come up at any time.
