Novel Porn Addiction Advice

When I used to struggle to stop watching porn, I never looked at the exact same content twice.

Instead, I would always search for a new photo or a new video. Novelty is a key part of addiction. Once you get started on the act, you progress to more and more novel content because what you've previously looked at stops doing it for you.

People who try and stop watching porn often go down a similar route with their approach to stopping their compulsive behaviour. Before the Beyond Compulsion method, I did this. In the past, I'd always be seeking a new hack. A new special way to stop watching porn. I was lost in a rabbit hole of information, jumping from specific somatic styles to more cognitive ones and then sinking deep into an abyss of meditation techniques. I'd try one method for a few months, have some success, get very excited, and then relapse and move onto the next approach. My process for stopping the behaviour was all over the place

I had no clarity, no structure, no real plan. I was what I call a circle person.

Once you have a system in place that works, stick to it. Do not change a winning formula. This is what the addicted part of the mind (APOTM) desperately wants you to do. Long term, the application of the same process over and over results in you gaining true stability, confidence, and consistency. The alternative is a life of ups and downs, living like Jekyll and Hyde. I know it is hard because there is so much conflicting information out there and it can be hard to know who to trust.

But, once you find something that works for you - stick with it, move on with your life, and never look back.
