Nothing can make you relapse

A lot of life situations could lead to you wanting to engage in your compulsive behaviour. Well, more specifically, the addicted part of the mind can try and use life circumstances as a rationalisation to get you to relapse. But, there is nothing in this world that can actually make you relapse. This past weekend was a little more stressful than usual as me and my partner are moving into a new flat next weekend. As such, there is a lot of packing, organising, and dismantling of furniture going on. Our new place is unfurnished and my partner is bringing a fair few bits over to it. Now this sort of situation doesn't have to be stressful. But, to be honest with you I don't need to go into all of the ins and outs but I've been a little stressed at times. People get stressed from time to time and sure maybe that can be worked on, but one thing is for certain - it doesn't have to lead to relapse. It could lead to the addicted part of the mind trying to get you to engage, but that is very different to actually going ahead and acting on that desire and relapsing. With a script you can think through your choice to engage in a compulsive behaviour in a rational way no matter what your circumstances are like. If you'd like to explore building a script through working with us at the Beyond Compulsion Academy, feel free to book in a 1-1 discovery call with me.
