Building self-trust

You don't build self-trust through running away from problems. When you have a porn addiction, your problem is that there is a part of your mind trying to get you to watch porn.

This is what we call the addicted part of the mind (APOTM). Unfortunately, most people are taught to avoid the APOTM by going on runs, staying busy, distracting themselves, and removing all potential triggers. This is a short-term strategy that never lasts. Eventually, there is a time when you experience strong compulsive desires and the APOTM gets real loud, real quick.

The only way out of a porn addiction for good is through facing the APOTM directly. By doing this correctly, you build up more self-trust than you could ever imagine. One of our clients shared how he is doing this recently on the weekly check-in inside of the Beyond Compulsion Academy.

The starting place is with Fact 1 and Fact 2. This is how you begin to face the APOTM directly, rather than running from it.
