Analysis is Overrated in Addiction Recovery

The irony of analysing why analysis is overrated is not lost on me...
That is one heavy sentence to read and you probably didn't enjoy reading it... It isn't particularly clear what is meant. The addicted part of the mind (APOTM) works in a similar way.

The reason analysis is overrated is because the solution to this problem can be simple. The solution, when you break it down, is to weigh up options and think through decisions in the present moment. This is not easy. And we believe it requires training and a tool to put into practice effectively. However, once you are trained on the Beyond Compulsion method, you are equipped with an attacking approach towards solving this problem.
Therefore you can live your life freely, without ever needing to figure out what to do. Where people go wrong is instead of getting the repetition of the script in to change their neural pathways, they start overanalysing every little thing going on in their mind.
Keep it simple. Take things moment by moment. For everyone reading this, who has learned the Beyond Compulsion method, don't worry about perfectly using the script at every single moment. Instead, use the script when you know you want to engage in compulsivity and the rest of the time - enjoy the freedom and peace of mind of living life on the straight line!
