A completely new way to view making hard choices in life
Over the last couple of days, I've spoken to a couple of guys who have wanted to learn more about the Beyond Compulsion Academy. For both guys, a part of them wanted to join BCA. However, another part of them didn't want to join. What is going on here? Well, it's what we call the constant conflict and this is totally natural and to be expected. When you have developed addicted neural pathways, there is a conflict in your mind. One part of you wants to stop engaging in the compulsive behaviour (the part of their mind that wanted to join BCA) and another part wants to engage in the compulsive behaviour (the part that did not want to join). But, this is where language is important. When you're in addiction, you often feel like your options are between doing something or not doing something. And that is why most people stay stuck in a mental conflict for their whole life. If your options are between doing something and not doing something, you are sort of f*cked. Think about it this way, everyone who is dead is "not watching porn". They are on a longer NoFap streak than anyone else and they are not even trying. They are constantly "not doing something". So, what options do people have instead? At BCA, we train people on making a decision between one choice (Option A) or making an alternative choice (Option B). These options form part of The 5-Fact script.
The second choice (Option B) that people can choose through our training enables them to make real change in their neural pathways. That is how people get to actually feel good about their choices. With every read of their specific 5-Fact script, they are getting to make real change in their brain - change that is actually focused on the very specific problem going on in their mind. If you have ever debated joining BCA, just know the choice isn't between joining and "not joining". Really your choice is between learning to change your neural pathways or continuing with the same neural pathways you have today. You can stay the same as you are today, you do not have to change. But, getting clear on what your actual options are is important, especially if you are in a position in life where you do want to change. People who experience compulsive desires have a choice between changing their reality or staying in the same one. It is never about "not doing something". That is what we call deprivation-based thinking and is something addressed very directly in the first phase of BCA's training. The addicted part of the mind (APOTM) wants people to feel deprived so it tries to make the option between engaging (long term misery) and not engaging (long term misery). A lot of people stay stuck thinking that these are the only two options they have for their whole life. We provide a whole new paradigm through which people can view this problem by radically changing the way they think, and providing a specific 5-Fact script to enable people to change their neural pathways in moments of compulsive desire. If you would like to learn more about how we can help you overcome a compulsive behaviour, feel free to get in touch.
