People don't gain benefits from simply "quitting" porn, but from dealing with the addicted part of the mind (APOTM) correctly - consistently, repeatedly, over time. And from dealing with the APOTM, in the correct way, they get to stop watching porn as well as any other compulsive behaviour they want to stop. In my porn addiction days, I would often replace porn with other compulsive behaviours. I would stop watching porn and start to scroll for hours on social media or overeat or gamble. I never got that true peace of mind, mental stability, and confidence because I never actually dealt with the APOTM head on. I just replaced one behaviour with another one, went on a streak, and then eventually relapsed anyway. I was the epitome of instability.
Nowadays, that cycle has stopped and I know how to deal with compulsive desires for all behaviours in the right way and make real change in my neural pathways. Earlier today one of our clients shared how he had an epiphany about how the APOTM works and how his whole problem isn't just about porn and sex, but about compulsivity instead. This paradigm shift is really important and can totally change the game. Once you know how to deal with the APOTM directly, you finally get to be in control of yourself, without fearing relapse ever again!
